Campsite Holiday : hire a bike to explore the region

The Océan Breton camping is located in the south of Finistère, in a close vicinity to the bay of Lesconil, and is situated between Brittany’s major landmarks and the seashore. Our camping park occupies a vast ground along the Ria du Steir river, and its estuary, surrounded by lush greenery.

There is no shortage of amazing views around the territory of the campsite, and we also provide access to sports and activities, enabling you to work out and try out water sports during your holiday. For instance, during your holiday at the Océan Breton campsite, you can play petanque – our activity leaders regularly organise tournaments among our guests. Also on-site, are ping-pong tables with rackets and balls that you can borrow.

However, to discover the region and get to know the amazing location of the Océan Breton better, we encourage you to go on a hike or on a bike ride. Whenever you are tired of stand-up paddling, surfing or swimming, opt for a day of discovery and enjoyable bike rides. Hit the biking trail and prepare to fall in love with the landscapes and views of Brittany, as you cycle. We are one of the rare campsites with bike hire, meaning, it will be possible for you to get a bike here.

Océan Breton: a campsite with bike hire

There is no need to drag your own bike to the campsite. You can hire mountain bikes and hybrid bikes on-site, by going to the campsite’s reception, which is open every day until 7 p.m. Here, you will also find a large offer of maps of the Pays Bigouden (the region). We will be glad to advise you on the routes and give you more information about biking and hiking in the area. We plan hikes with our team that you can join if you want or you can also enjoy discovering the region on your own.

Hire a bike at the campsite to visit the surroundings

Whether on foot or by bike, make the most of the Océan Breton campsite’s great location. Staying with us, you are never too far away from the region’s most picturesque and dramatic views. And we are perfectly situated for you to be able to go off and explore the surrounding area. Our campsite and park are located right next to the road which allows you to quickly access the bay of Lesconil and the sea.

Once you are at the bay of Lesconil, take your time to enjoy the impressive views of the sea. From there, you can easily take the famous GR34, also known as the Customs’ Officers’ Footpath or “Sentier des Douaniers”. Created in the end of the 18th century, the path was used by customs officers patrolling the area to prevent smuggling. Nowadays, it is a hit with tourists, hikers and bikers – and for a good reason. The legendary path winds along the coastline for over 2,000 km, stretching from Mont-Saint-Michel to the bridge of Saint-Nazaire. The views of the ocean, hills and the rocks are stunning. You can follow the trail for as long as you want and enjoy the sounds of the ocean, the fresh ocean air and the unique views.

The GR34 route invites you to discover the wonders of the wild Breton coast, cycle by the dramatic cliffs, with a view over prehistoric dolmens. Apart from the famous route, opportunities for hikes and bike rides here are numerous and exciting.
