The Océan Breton campsite is perfect for camping with water sports. The Océan Breton is not just a great outpost for discovering the rich culture and history of Brittany (after all, the region has been attracting artists, writers and travellers for centuries), but also the perfect place to do sports, embark on adventures and acquire new skills.

Among many other things, the Océan Breton invites you to get into water – and we don’t just mean the great waterpark at our campsite, or the hot tubs at the cottages (though we know how much you appreciate them), but also a range of exciting sporty activities at the seashore along the coast line, and in the river. So, get out of your tent or cottage and get into water!

The Océan Breton campsite is very fortunately located in the vicinity of the seaside with its numerous sandy beaches and the Ria du Steir river, which means that there is no lack of opportunities to try out water sports and acquire new hobbies. Instructors at our site will be happy to teach you how to paddle board, surf or bodyboard – that’s your perfect camping with water sports experience.

Learn stand-up paddling at our campsite with water sports

Trust us when we say that few things are better than sliding by the shores of Brittany on a stand-up paddle on a hot summer day. Easy to learn and yet easier to love, stand-up paddling hails from Hawaii where it gained popularity in the 1960s and is set to become one of the favourite summertime activities in Europe. Seemingly effortless, stand-up paddling is a great workout as it makes you strain your leg and back muscles to maintain balance.

During the holiday season, at the Océan Breton campsite, we offer stand-up paddling sessions for beginners. Here, you will learn how to maintain balance on the board, turn and move in a group. We will start the session in the Ria du Steir estuary, where the current is light. Apart from enjoying paddling, you will have a chance to discover the rich and lush greenery on the shores of the estuary. Then we will leave the campsite and paddle towards the seaside, located just a few hundred metres away down the stream. Here, under the supervision of your instructor, you will admire the view of the Breton shores and enjoy the sense of adventure, as you paddle in the open ocean.

Explore kayaking at the Océan Breton campsite

Kayaking is offered from the Lesconil nautical base. You can kayak by the numerous beaches, stopping and getting off your kayak whenever you feel like it or kayak in the idyllic Ria du Steir estuary and take your time to enjoy the quiet and the emerald-green vegetation at the estuary.

Other water sports

The Lesconil nautical base is a true gem for those who enjoy water sports and activities. During your stay at the Océan Breton campsite, you can enroll in a beginners’ surfing course. Surfing lessons take place at the nearby La Torche beach. The sandy La Torche beach is one of the picturesque Breton beaches surrounded by tall weeds. On a windy day, the waves at La Torche would delight an experienced surfer, too, but mostly the beach is perfect for those who are just learning how to surf. Here, you can also try bodyboarding for beginners.
